Title:  Sales and Event Specialist

Short Summary

Responsible for all aspects of planning and production for events. Assist in development and implementation of the Sales plan and budget in compliance with strategic goals. Develop and actively solicit new business prospecting lists and prioritized customer accounts. Achieve monthly quotas linking sales activities, revenue generation and new business leads.

Job Description

  • Event quotes, planning, contracts, and production - responsible for all aspects of planning and production for meetings and events at the CN Tower.  Responsible for all products and services at the event
  • Planning and Production of Meetings and Events
  • Handle planning and production of events from start to finish including on-site event management
  • Conduct site inspections and familiarization tours to liaise with clients, identifying client needs and satisfaction
  • Establish products and services to meet client budgets and deadlines
  • Create proposals and financial contracts
  • Finalize all details pertaining to event and prepare event planning document; communicate with clients on a regular basis
  • Co-ordinate services for client events such as facilities, catering, signage, displays, floral and decor, translation, special needs requirements, audio-visual equipment, printing and security
  • Conduct post-event evaluation; review and follow-up on customer comments, to provide input and feedback to management for ongoing service provision and quality
  • Review invoices and prepare for approval, maintain financial records, review final billing submitted to clients and prepare reports
  • Provide weekly/monthly productivity summaries

Qualifications

  • A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of related experience in event planning or management.
  • A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of related experience in hospitality and tourism corporate and/or leisure sales.
  • Superior organizational skills to manage large volumes of business and opportunities from various sources and to coordinate multiple projects.
  • High degree of judgment, diplomacy and tact to responsibly deal with client contract negotiations and recovery.
  • A relevant college diploma or university degree in hospitality, tourism, sales, marketing, business or equivalent is preferred. 
  • Familiarity with corporate and leisure services and products, and with event planning, catering, sales and marketing business processes.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
