Title:  Audio Visual Support

Short Summary

To provide an uncompromising level of service excellence to our internal and external clients by maintaining and operating all technical related services throughout the CN Tower. This includes, but not limited to, attractions, audio/visual (A/V) equipment and applicable security systems.

The CN Tower is host to many large and medium size functions and the technical support team is solely responsible for meeting the clients’ needs, setup and removal of such in house systems and components.

Job Description

  • Set-up of A/V equipment for facility functions, press conferences and also operation of built in A/V systems and hookups
  • A/V support is responsible for analyzing and resolving hardware and software problems associated with all large A/V infrastructure and security systems
  • Perform inventory and operational testing on all equipment on a regular basis, including maintenance and repairs or A/V and security systems
  • Assist the Supervisor, Technical Services with troubleshooting and various equipment repairs
  • Installation and maintenance of new A/V systems such as networks and terminations for such
  • Assist with the maintenance on all other attraction based technical systems throughout the facility
  • Responsible for ensuring all Audio/Visual systems are functioning
  • Responsible for logging all equipment downtime and maintaining up to date maintenance logs
  • Responsible for ordering various supplies, implementing latest upgrades and repairs to units as designated by management
  • Prepare proposals, reports and estimates where required

Qualifications

  • A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of related A/V experience is an asset.
  • Audio engineering experience an asset
  • Video editing and encoding skills an asset
  • Audio / Video automation
  • CCTV system knowledge and experience an asset
  • Knowledge of electronic technologies, maintenance and WHMIS is required
  • Experience and understanding of electronics, computers, technical, and mechanical skills

Working Conditions

Able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines, conflicting demands, frequent interruptions, and heavy work loads.
Medium physical effort. Requires occasional handling of heavyweight objects and, frequently, a large amount standing or walking. Effort applies to number of hours as required.
Ability to crawl, climb (i.e. a ladder), enter confined spaces and work at heights.
Work involves medium exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
Flexible to work rotating shifts, which includes but is not limited to evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime as required.
Department uniforms are provided to protect personal clothing from wear and damage. Approved uniforms are to be worn during working hours. Dress codes are in effect as per the standard policy and procedure.
