Short Summary
Prepare all food items related to pastry menu and various outlets in and around the CN Tower.
Follow direction by CDP, 1st Cook, Pastry Sous Chef or Chef De Cuisine.
Assist in readying all mise en place for daily services within required time frame.
Make sauces, pastries and dessert items; and ensure they are properly garnished and stored within a timely manner while maintaining quality control, health and safety, food safety standards as directed by CDP, Sous chef or Chef de cuisine.
Job Description
- Bake, cook, measure, make, prepare fruits, vegetables and pastry products for daily services and functions as directed by pastry sous chef or chef de cuisine(s)
- Follow pastry recipes and prepare menu items to meet the Company Menu standards
- Work in functions setting, creating or plating pastry catering items
- Responsible for transportation of all food products, be sure it is packed and stacked in accordance with Kitchen Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
- Prepare and cook, bake and store of food products. Follow proper techniques (accurate recipes, portion sizing)
- Adhere to all Company policies and departmental procedures and the Collective Agreement
- Keep working area clean, sanitary and free of trip and slip hazards
Qualifications
- A relevant college diploma or university degree in culinary arts, cook’s trade certification or equivalent is preferred
- Valid Food Handler’s Certificate preferred
- One (1) - three (3) years of related cooking/baking experience is preferred
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
